Dutch oven desserts are one of my favorite Dutch oven dishes. Luckily, they are also one of the easiest dishes to cook in your Dutch oven. There are many dutch oven desserts, but here are three Dutch oven desserts that are especially easy.
Dutch Oven Dessert - Dutch Oven Cherry Cobbler
Dutch oven cobblers are legendary! This one is no exception. It is so simple to cook but is so delicious--your guests will love it. See my recipe for Dutch Oven Cherry Cobbler.
Dutch Oven Dessert - Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
Another very popular classic Dutch oven dessert is the Dutch Oven Pineapple Upside-Down Cake. Like cobbler, it is super easy to do, except for the flip at the end. Practice with the Dutch oven and your serving plate ahead of time, and find a method where you can confidently flip and you'll be fine. See Dutch Oven Pineapple Upside-Down Cake for my recipe, original flip disaster, and the great result of my second try.
Dutch Oven Dessert - Chocolate Turtle Cake
Finally, this is one of my favorites. It takes just a bit more effort than the cobbler or upside-down cake, but the results are fabulous. This cake is a layered cake where you cook half of the batter first, add some chocolate chips, caramel sauce and then the second layer of batter and then top it off with a caramel sauce. Scrumptious, gourmet, and unbelievably delicious. But still pretty easy to do. See Dutch Oven Chocolate Turtle Cake - My Best One Yet for the directions.
These are some great dutch oven recipes. Give them a try!
