I posted last year about finding a wonderful book on Dutch Oven cooking by Mark Hansen. I really did enjoy this book and there are some great recipes in it.
I just found out that the author, Mark Hansen, has written two more dutch oven books, so if you happened to get Best of the Black Pot and enjoyed it (or if you haven't got it yet, you can get it here), I hope that you'll check out his two new books. I also hear that he is working on a fourth book, due out later this year.
I haven't purchased these new books yet, but plan to do so soon and I'll put a review up at that time. But if they are anything like his first book, I know I'll enjoy it and I'm sure you will to.
Mark's second book is Black Pot for Beginners: Sure Fire Methods to Get a Great Dutch Oven Dish Every Time. Looking at the table of contents and some of the sample pages on Amazon, Mark covers the basics of Dutch Oven cooking and gets you going with some simple dishes. Sounds perfect for anyone that is just getting started.
The next book that Mark has out looks intriguing: Around the World in a Dutch Oven. I think that you can cook virtually any dish in a Dutch Oven--it's that versatile. And it looks like Mark is out to prove just that, tackling dishes from around the world. If you are a bit more experienced, this might be the book for you.
The last book, due out in September 2013, is Dutch Oven Breads. Breads in a Dutch oven can be absolutely delicious (remember, it always tastes better when it's cooked outdoors!), and looking forward to the tips and tricks that Mark will share in showing how to cook some delicious breads in my Dutch oven.
I'll do a review on these books in the future, but, in the meantime, why don't you head on over to Amazon and pick up one of these books and let me know what you think?
