I've cooked a number of potato dishes in a dutch oven--you can even bake potatoes in a dutch oven, just like you do in your oven in hour kitchen. This is a delicious, easy recipe for making Dutch Oven Potatoes Au Gratin.

Ingredients
- 8-10 potatoes, sliced thin
- 3 tbsp. melted butter or margarine
- 2 medium onions, sliced thin
- 15 oz can of cheese soup
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ cup cracker or bread crumbs
- 1 cup shredded cheese
Instructions
- Put a little bit of oil in the bottom of the Dutch oven.
- Put a layer of potatoes in the bottom of the oven and brush with the melted butter. Season with salt and pepper, if you like.
- Next add a layer of sliced onions.
- Now, continue layering, alternating with potatoes and onions, until all are used.
- Mix the soup and milk and pour over the top.
- Sprinkle the crumbs over the top of the mixture
- Add any other seasonings that you desire.
- Put the Dutch oven over 6-8 briquettes and put 16-18 briquettes on the top.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove and sprinkle the top with the shredded cheese. Replace lid and let the cheese melt. This should take too long
- Serve!
